A small amount for a taxi or to at least show good faith, if the girl has good feedback and she's coming a distance that would leave her out of pocket if you were a windup merchant is not unreasonable. Not necessarily the whole taxi fare but enough that it makes it unlikely you're a pisstaker. Certainly no more than £20.

My gents have two options pay by bank transfer or cash.
Now for the guys that are worried about showing there names - god knows why theres other ways us ladies can retrieve your details so I am sorry but your stupid.
Use a monzo or revolt card.
My gents pay by bank transfer its so much easier straight into a business account.
If paying a deposit infuriates you, if you cant understand the reason for taking risks with your money as you cant 100% trust the lady you're trying to get a date with, then you are the reason the lady in question mandates a deposit. You were just filtered out and it certainly works
