Never heard of them ( basically a wanking device ),- but during my research I saw a lot of cock rings sold by various firms,-'Love Honey'

Reading the reviews it would seem that as well as being very cheap they may solve a lot of problems, as well as enhancing the whole experience....has anyone used one ..and if so how do WG's react ? Can't see that it makes any difference to them , although a lot of the reviews state that it takes you longer to cum (?)

I don't know what the WG's have to say about it but I can tell you that cock rings are fantastic. My advice is to buy the softest one you can find, it should also be fairly wide - around 1.5inches or two-fingers width - so that the pressure is dispersed evenly. You do NOT need a lot of pressure, all you need is a little bit of >squeeze< the same as you would expect from a good hand job.

Just make sure you use a properly sized one. Don't be like the bloke who came into A&E having shoved his cock into a brass curtain ring when my mate was on call as a Dr there.

You must have bought a bad design or very cheap hard plastic ones. You could also try a simple elastic strap (softest and thickest you can find) with a velcro fastener stitched to it. Your GP and pharmacist are both wrong! Maybe cock rings don't work for everyone but I'd say for most men they are an enhancement.
